The Clinical and Administrative Medical Assistant curriculum focuses on acquiring the skills needed to assist physicians and other members of the health care delivery team. Students in the medical assisting courses learn clinical skills such as taking patient vital signs, phlebotomy/hematology techniques, laboratory procedures, electrocardiography (ECG) and knowledge basic pharmacology. Students also learn medical office administration skills, including reception, patient scheduling, billing, medical office coding, insurance and electronic health records management.
